What’s Xbox Game Bar?

Xbox Game Bar, the gaming overlay built into Windows 10 works with nearly all PC games, with cool resources that allows you screen capture and sharing, controlling your music… all without leaving your game.

The Xbox Game Bar was originally designed to record clips of video games, but it can be used in any type of video capture of your screen. Always remember that, to be able to use it, your video card must support any of these three encoders: Nvidia NVENC, Intel Quick Sync H.264 or AMD VCE.

How do you screen record with Xbox Game Bar?

These are the steps to follow if you want to record your screen with Xbox Game Bar:

• Open the window you want to record and try to hide the windows and audio that you don’t want to include. That’s how you avoid to accidentally record something you didn’t want to be included in the clip.
• Click Windows key + G to open up Xbox Game Bar
• Press the microphone button to include external audio recording if you want to add a voiceover (internal audio keeps being recorded)
• Once everything is set, press the Record button (the dot) to start recording. A small pop-up bar with a timer and two recording controls will appear. Control your external mic by switching on or off the microphone button.
• Once you’ve recorded everything, press the stop button in the recording bar or hit Windows + Alt + R.
• Once pressed, a pop up will appear on the right side of your screen with this message “Game clip recorded” If you click over it, it will take you to the “Captures” folder in File Explorer or you can find it directly through File Explorer. Follow this route “This PC” >“Videos” > “Captures.”

Monosnap

If you’re looking to screen record from your iPhone, these are the steps to follow:

• Go to “Settings” and click “Control Center” and then “Customize control”, later press the icon “+” over the option “Screen Recording”

• The screen recorder option will be now included within the Control Center; to get access to it, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and then press the screen recording button (in newer devices, the control center will be accesible from the top left of the screen). It will appear a three second countdown and then the recording will start.
• Once you’re finished recording, press again the “Screen Recorder” button in the “Control Center”.

• The video will be automatically stored in the “Photos” app, from where you can easily edit or share it.

Go Record

Go Record is an app that will be a great option if you’re willing to make a fast screen record of your iOS devices.

How to screen record on Ipad

If you’re looking to screen record from your Ipad, these are the steps to follow:

• Open QuickTime and click “File>New Screen Recording”

• Before pressing “Record”, open the “Options” menu and go to the Microphone section, selecting the one that comes from the Mac or an external one if you have already one installed. Once everything is set hit “Record”.
• Adjust the volume slider to monitor the audio while recording
• While recording, it will appear a new icon in the upper bar, hit “Stop” once you’re finished.

• Quicktime Player will open automatically the recorded video, so you will be able to edit or share it.

Screenshot Toolbar

Instead of using QuickTime Player, you can go directly to the same point by opening the Screenshot Toolbar. These are the steps to follow:

• Press “Shift + Command + 5”, this will open the screenshot Toolbar directly.

• Before pressing “Record”, open the “Options” menu and go to the Microphone section, selecting the one that comes from the Mac or an external one if you have already one installed. Once everything is set hit “Record”.
• While recording, it will appear a new icon in the upper bar, hit “Stop” once you’re finished.

If you’re looking to record from a high quality audio microphone, instead of using the built-in microphone available in the Mac, we recommend you to download Soundflower, which will route your computer’s audio back into QuickTime to record it . These are the steps to follow:

• Download and install Soundflower 
• Go into System Preferences>Sound>Output>choose Soundflower 2ch

• Open QuickTime and click “File>New Screen Recording

• Open the “Options” menu and go to the Microphone section, choose Soundflower 2ch and hit “Record”

• While recording, it will appear a new icon in the upper bar, hit “Stop” when finished.

• Once you’re finished recording, remember to disconnect soundflower from the general audio input, so you’re audio gets again through the Mac speakers.
